As for most of us, 2021 was a challenging year for me. It was one of the worst years of my life. Remember the ‘this is your brain on drugs’ commercials from way back in the day? That’s my brain, but I’m not on drugs.
Rather than forcing it, I’ve decided to take a break from writing for a bit. I’m hoping that, along with a social media break, might reset the old noggin and renew my love of words once again. If not, I can at least say I did what I initially set out to do when I started this blog. I told the story of the funny lump on my hip that ripped my whole world apart, but ultimately made me who I am today. I would not trade that for anything.
Interestingly enough, my very first blog post here documented my month long break from social media. It was in that month, as the chemo fog cleared from my brain, that I conceptualized and built I’m Sick and So Are You. It was where I found my love of writing after years of being sick. Hopefully lightning will strike twice.
If you’re new here, let me show you around. There’s plenty to read. My top five most read blog posts are as follows:
And these are just some of my personal favorites:
I hope 2022 steers us all in the right direction, a better direction, one where we all feel safe and loved. A direction where our hearts heal from so much pain and out of that we grow into the best versions of ourselves. I can tell you from experience this is possible, even if right now it feels nowhere near that. Be well, friends. And thank you for reading the words I put my heart and soul into. Until we meet again.
